bOa with a.melodie and Gil Delindro
"Devolution" A collaboration between the dance company BOA and the musicians a.melodie and Gil Delindro. Gil Delindro is a multidisciplinary artist who focuses on the conflicting relations between ego, nature and technology. Through an extensive cross-border practice, tracing filmmaking, sound, installation, performance and theatre, his work offers a detailed bridge between mediums and research perspectives, often facing concepts such as animism, time, memory, isolation, contamination and post digital conflicts. A regular performer in the Echtzeitmusik Berlin and member of collectives such as Srosh ensemble, Sonóscopia (Porto), Blind Signal (Berlin), his work is largely based on field research in diverse isolated landscapes – currently, he is one of the chosen artists taking part in the residency “The weight of Mountains” for 3 months in the desert of Sahara, going further in a carefully crafted symbiosis between landscape and sound processing. Delindro works mostly with raw elements and analog self-built processes, creating a very physical, direct and strong sound work that embraces both a concrete and unique imaginary land. a.melodie, the work of Mélodie Fenez, questions the place and role of the performer in experimental art. It also investigates the relationship between the individual voice and the great / background melody, the articulation between solitude and community. a.melodie consists of self-made synthesisers and electronic devices that are hooked up to an array of plants. The plants shape the sound of each oscillator. Because of physiological reactions, mainly due to their defence system, the plants modulate the frequency they produce, creating an alive and ever morphing sound. On stage, a.melodie composes with the sounds produced and modulated live by the plants.Homepage

HammsterDamm - Psychogramme einer Revolution
A collage of the French Revolution with texts by Georg Büchner and Heiner Müller In "Psycho einer Revolution" the dispute between Georges Danton and Maximilien Robespierre is brought with the texts from Georg Büchner and Heiner Müller for discussion of fundamental philosophical principles. In a red-lined box stage the player interacts with his four puppets, Robespierre, Danton, Antoine Saint-Just and Camille Desmoulins, jumping from figure to figure, from roll to roll, and delivers extreme case studies of political people who have power over power and thus so behave. He himself is the hunted revolutionary who wanders between the different views, to the bloody end. The stage: Palais Royal, brothel rooms, coffin, turning in the end into the Revolution Square. The play is supported by slide projections, surreal scenes with Theatrum Mundi figures, and by the driving, vehement music of the Berlin band ORNAMENT AND CRIME. The production emerged from the work of students from a scene study for the historical figure Danton, in the second year of study at the Department of Stage Design at the Kunsthochschule Berlin Weissensee in 1988, and premiered 29.6.1989. As a result of the chronological parallelism with the political events in the GDR 1989 / 90, the production experienced tense performances in the Theater 89, the Chamber Theatre Neubrandenburg, the Friedenskirche Jena and the 3rd floor of the Volksbühne.
Haul First, an explanation for the older ones among us: A haul video is a online video that is published by individuals on internet video portals. In these videos people present their most recent purchases - cosmetics and clothes, fashionable accessories for the camera. They describe the products bought, the origin and price, and often include their own narration in the form of a short experience report. Now the play: This is the point at which artists must address this topic, in order to refer the disinterested society to one of the most pressing problems of our young generation: consumption can make you sick. “If you follow me on Twitter, you know I was Twittering about my dilemma: should I get the gray or should I get the black?” She held up a pair of black shoes. Mystery solved. (New York Times)Homepage

Les Trucs x Der letzte Mann
Aided by synthesisers, sequencers and various sounding devices, Charlotte Simon and Zink Tonsur alias Les Trucs will enrich Murnau’s Weimar classic silent film »The Last Laugh« with live sound. The main character, played by Emil Jannings, climbs down the career ladder and, formerly a concierge of good standing, he becomes a lavatory attendant. Not only regarding the narrative and acting is the film committed to the expressionist film language prevalent in the 1920s, but also from a technical point of view. For the first time in film history, cinematographer Karl Freund turns loose the »unleashed camera«, from now on, in cinema, not only images and characters are moving, but also the view now wanders through space.Homepage Sound Sample

WAL Kompanie: GESTRANDET
Company Wal STRANDED Physical Theatre STRANDED. An interaction of theatre, dance, performance and music. Scenic pictures are coloured with irony, depth, absurdity and provocation - a surreal vortex. In the centre of STRANDED are humans, the animal, and the animal in humans. We use our fellow men and our environment for personal gain, but where does the benefit stop and the abuse begin? Who is the perpetrator? Who is the victim? The human we observe forms part of a society with almost limitless possibilities, he can make use of it all. Every day new artificial needs are created, which exceed natural necessities. We humans are constantly flooded by information. To interpret correctly and act seems increasingly difficult. We are ignorant. We consume in the abundance, therein loosing sight of our true needs. An emptiness develops. In the here and now. Where do we come from and where do we go? How can humans find themselves again in the world as it is, and relocate what has been lost? “Humans need a sense for history, like the migratory birds a sense for orientation”.Homepage
